Teenage Vacation Course (14- 17 years)

This course is ideally suited to teenagers who require a general English course combined with an interesting and varied social and activities programme. Mixed nationality groups follow communicative courses with an emphasis on the spoken language.

Course Fee Include:

• 20 lessons (15 hours) of tuition per week, mornings only, in classes of maximum 15 mixed nationality students.
• Comprehensive leisure programme including one full day excursion and one half-day outing per week, disco, visit to Sports Hall, and opportunity to join other sports activities
• See social activities programme
• 6 levels - from Beginner to Advanced
• First day test to ensure correct class level
• Free escorted SIS coach transfer to and from London Heathrow Airport on Saturdays
• Afternoon and evening activities are supervised by experienced SIS leaders

Young Adult Vacation Course (16 - 18 years)

These courses are exactly as the ADULT GENERAL ENGLISH COURSES and are based in the adult department. They are for the well-motivated student in this age group. Classes of maximum 9 students. Full social programme included.

Teenage Intensive (14-17 years)

The  course is designed to meet students' individual needs. Students on this course may be studying or planning to study at overseas International Schools where English is the language of tuition. They may have specific personal requirements, or just wish to improve their English language skills. We welcome information from students, their parents or schools to help us design the right programme of study for each individual. The Teenage Intensive course encourages students to take responsibility for their own learning and to develop to their own full potential.

• Total 21 hours tuition per week
• 20 lessons (15 hours) of group tuition in English language (09.00 - 12.30), Maximum 9 students per class (15 in summer)
• 6 hours of personalised tuition in tutorial groups (13.30 - 15.30, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday), Maximum 6 students per class all year
• FREE airport transfers on Saturdays (see below)
• Guided independent learning & advice on study skills

IELTS COURSE OPTION (AVAILABLE SEPTEMBER TO JUNE) We offer an IELT S option September to June; morning lessons as above but with IELT S specific instruction and examination practice on three afternoons a week. 4 week minimum enrolment. Beginners not accepted. Contact school for IELTS option in July and August. Cost: Add £120 exam entry/course material supplement

Accommodation

Our homestay families only take students from SIS so we can guarantee: no other students of the same nationality; no overcrowding; no adult or junior students. Most homestays are an easy walk from the school. Breakfast and evening meals included, with light lunch at weekends.

Transfers

Transfers to and from London Heathrow Airport or other ports of entry can be arranged by SIS. Experienced School drivers will meet students at arrivals gate, and assist with check-in on departure.

Free escorted school bus service on Saturdays, Heathrow - Sidmouth - Heathrow (the School can in no way be held responsible for any late arrivals or departures).

Arrivals: Free bus leaves Heathrow 17.00
Departures: Free bus arrives Heathrow 12.00 approximately

An escort meeting and check-in service is available. £30 each way for ages 14-15 years, £40 each way for ages 16-17 years. Please view the  travel page

Travelling time 2.5 hours

Regular shuttle buses link Gatwick to Heathrow airport every 15 minutes (journey time 90 minutes; price £40 return) and also link Stansted to Heathrow airport every 30 minutes (journey time 85 minutes; price £30.00 return)
