Courses for Young Learners 2010

JUNIOR COURSE (8 - 11 years) & Tweens Course (12-13 years)

Course fee per week: £350

One week minimum
Add registration fee £50 and accommodation

Both courses are based in our Junior department, which is separate from the Adult and Teenage departments. The courses are specially designed to teach English to the young learner in a holiday atmosphere, with the emphasis on improving their fluency and increasing their language knowledge. Students are placed in class according to their age and level of English and work together to develop their communication skills. They leave with more confidence and a greater understanding of both the English language and culture.

Course fees include:

• First day test to ensure correct class level
• 20 lessons (15 hours) of English tuition per week (09.00 - 12.30, Monday to Friday)
• Mixed nationality classes, maximum 12 students
• Language levels from beginner to advanced (5 levels)
• Well-equipped classrooms, open spaces and play equipment
• Busy, fully-supervised leisure programme in the afternoons
• Accommodation booking service with special Junior homestay families
• ID card with homestay address and telephone number, and the School’s 24-hour emergency telephone number

Transport

The School has an escorted bus every Saturday from/to London Heathrow Airport, with a meeting and check-in service for unaccompanied students (at extra cost). There is also a school car service available: experienced School drivers will meet students at the
arrivals gate and assist with check-in on departure. Please ask the School for a Transport Information Pack.

Junior Accommodation

Students on Young Learners courses are placed with special Junior homestay families who have children, and who provide the care and supervision as well as the correct environment for children of this age. All Junior homestays are checked by a local government agency and regularly inspected by the School. Our homestay families only take students from SIS so we can guarantee: no other students of the same nationality; no overcrowding; no adult or teenage students.

Price includes shared room, all meals (packed lunch on weekdays) daily escorted transfers to and from School, and Sunday with the homestay family.

Accomodation Fee per week: £170
