Adult Courses 2012
Available all year . For students aged 18+ years

Courses follow a communicative syllabus which includes a balance of grammar, vocabulary and functional English for all situations.

Our experienced and qualified teachers use a wide range of materials to help students develop and improve their language skills in speaking, listening, reading and writing.

Beginners accepted by special arrangement.

Course fees include:

• First day test to ensure correct class level (6 levels of English)
• Mixed-nationality classes of maximum 5 students (9 in summer season)
• All tuition materials
• End-of-course certificate

• FREE SIS coach transfer to/from Heathrow Airport every Saturday
• FREE basic social programme - there are charges for some sports and all excursions
• FREE use of student internet and resource centre
• FREE weekly language and pronunciation clinic given by our experienced teachers (not available in summer)
• FREE Book Club - we offer a ‘reading circle’ in which learners are encouraged to read and then participate in discussions

General English Courses

GENERAL ENGLISH

20 lessons (15 hours) of tuition per week, mornings only.

Course fee per week:

INTENSIVE ENGLISH

28 lessons (21 hours) of tuition per week.

Course fee per week:

• 11 June - 31 August £375
• Rest of year £305

Combination courses

GENERAL ENGLISH + ONE-TO-ONE

As the General English course plus 6 lessons of one-to-one tuition per week (26 lessons: 19.5 hours). One-to-one lessons can include General English, ESP (English for Business etc.) or EAP (English for Academic Purposes).

Course fee per week:

• 11 June - 31 August £470
• Rest of year £340

INTENSIVE ENGLISH + ONE-TO-ONE

As the Intensive English course plus 6 lessons of one-to-one tuition per week (34 lessons: 25.5 hours). One-to-one lessons can include General English, ESP (English for Business etc.) or EAP (English for Academic Purposes).

Course fee per week:

• 11 June - 31 August £530
• Rest of year £390

ONE-TO-ONE TUITION /PERSONAL INTENSIVE COURSE

In English and a range of ESP subjects to suit your requirements.

Course fees per week:

• Single hour (60 mins) 20 lessons (15 hrs) 28 lessons (21 hrs)
• One lesson: 45 minutes
• Add registration fee £50 and accommodation to all course fees
• Ask the School for details of reduced prices for groups of 10+ students, Vacation courses for all the family, Young Adult (16-18) vacation courses, English Language and Culture for 50+

Adult Accommodation

Our homestay families only take students from SIS so we can guarantee: no other students of the same nationality; no overcrowding; no junior students.

Most homestays are within walking distance of the School.

Breakfast and evening meal included, with light lunch at weekends.

SIS can also recommend suitable hotels, guest houses and self-catering apartments.

Homestay/Private Home Accommodation (per person)

• Single room £170 per week (4 June - 27 August)
• £150 per week (rest of year)
• Shared room £139 per week

Transfers

Transfers to and from London Heathrow Airport or other ports of entry can be arranged by SIS. Experienced School drivers will meet students at arrivals gate, and assist with check-in on departure. Free escorted school bus service on Saturdays, Heathrow - Sidmouth

Heathrow (the School can in no way be held responsible for any late arrivals or departures).

• Arrivals: Free bus leaves Heathrow 17.00
• Departures: Free bus arrives Heathrow 12.00 approximately.
  Travelling time 2.5 hours

Regular shuttle buses link Gatwick to Heathrow airport every 15 minutes (journey time 90 min)
and also link Stansted to Heathrow airport every 30 minutes (journey time 105 min)
