Students develop their English language skills with the aid of a course book, and with supplementary work specifically chosen to address their individual needs. The school has also selected and designed a wide range of materials to familiarise students with the language they need to participate in lessons in school subjects (see sample timetable). Each student has a personal tutor who closely monitors their progress. When appropriate, internationally-recognised examinations can be taken which give added focus to the course of study and useful information to future schools or colleges on the language level achieved. High Flier students stay with experienced host families who provide an ideal introduction to English life, making the transition to boarding school much easier. The social programme is designed to reflect and reinforce the classroom studies with educational visits and tours in addition to sports and leisure activities. Course fees include:

IELTS: students can be prepared for the IELTS test. Contact school for details. Transfers to and from Heathrow Airport or other ports of entry can be arranged by SIS. Experienced School drivers will meet students at arrivals gate, and assist with check-in on departure. See Transport.

SAMPLE TIMETABLE
1. A coursebook is chosen at a suitable level for students. If appropriate, this may be an examination preparation coursebook. 2. English Language: supplementary work to the coursebook, including study skills, grammar, vocabulary and functional language. The four skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening are also taught and practised. 3. English for school subjects: in these sessions we aim to prepare students for entry to boarding school with some essential vocabulary for their subject lessons. 4. Activities options include sports (tennis, golf, table-tennis, pool, swimming, walking, go-karting), arts & craft, board games, use of computer room (Mondays only), quizzes. 5. Homework is given regularly to reinforce what is taught in the classroom and to encourage students to work independently.
